The first rule of a Professional Accounting Practice ...

"Nobody is in a rush for the wrong answer."

- "Take advantage of every tax vehicle that you can, as long as the vehicle is a good investment in its own right." -

- "Real charity does not care if it is deductible or not." -

- "Be committed to your partners' well-being, and they'll be committed to yours." -

- "You have to be humble enough to make sure you don't get caught up in your own hype." -

My Comprehensive Approach

I work with you, your banker and your solicitor to ensure that you are receiving proactive advice, geared to your special needs. You may not be at the stage where employing a full-time chief financial officer (CFO) or Controller earning in the six figures is cost effective. I will prepare and co-ordinate financial statements, taxation returns, accounting, reporting and administrative requirements of your business, society or Non-Profit Organization. I become your chief financial officer (CFO) and represent myself as part of your management team providing significant value-added.

If your current (or planned) engagement with an accountant results in only a financial statement and taxation return, you are not receiving value for your money. My opinion is that you can always find someone to 'fill in the forms' at a very small cost. If you are looking to receive value added in terms if strategy, ideas and continual re-justification of the status-quo, I am the solution your are looking for.

The diversity and quality of my client base reaches new heights each year. It is with great pride that I acknowledge a significant part of my growth is directly attributed to client referrals. Client referrals are my greatest compliment!

Does my business need an Audit, Review, or a Compilation?

Privately owned companies, sole proprietorships and partnerships may choose among three different levels of service by their accountant: an audit, review or compilation. The audit results in an independent accounting firm expressing its professional opinion as to whether the financial statements measure up to the strictest professional standards. Audits provide the highest degree of assurance for users. Reviews offer a lower level of assurance, while a compilation would offer the least.

Consequently the cost of each service is in proportion to the level of assurance needed. A better indication of what level of service you need is to ask specific users of the financial statements what they need. Perhaps a bank would be satisfied with a review, which would save your business money. Maybe the industry you're in is regulated which specifically requires audited financial statements to be submitted to the governing body. It is important to identify the users of your financial statements and question their information needs, it could save you money!
